Deep Clean or Disaster

Hey there blogosphere,

So I have used the TRESemme clarifying shampoo one time, and I can already tell it's going to be tough to use.  I have never used a clarifying shampoo, but lately all you hear is how you have to have a clean scalp for hair to grow longer faster.  This is the culprit:

Friend or Foe

I've been trying to grow my hair out for months, and because I dye my hair it never seems to grow very fast.  So trying to keep in step with these new discoveries, and using way too many different products in my hair over the past few months, I gave it a shot.  Boy does this stuff work, a little too well for my liking.  Right away it built up a good lather, and after rinsing I could feel that all the oils and build-up were gone.  I was really excited about the results (I never find shampoo or conditioner to be much different from brand to brand).  The next day however I had the most serious case of itchy tender scalp that I have ever had (and I am no stranger to bleach and strong hair dyes).  Talk about bothersome.

I'm going to leave this to a once every few weeks. Also when my hair starts to fade and I need to start with a fresh slate.  Maybe other people find this stuff awesome, but I think I'd need a less intense version to really give this method the benefit of the doubt.

What do you all think about clarifying shampoos?  Any recommendations?

Seven Months Later...

Hey There Guys and Gals. I'm about to give you a little back story before we get into this post.
This is me and Tay

We've been friends for about six years, and have always shared beauty and makeup as our common obsession.  Well, as one of our common obsessions, which also includes really loud music and driving through the middle-of-nowhere NY.  She loves her pups (two fluffy adorable Australian Shepards), mustangs, music, and Supernatural (the TV show, which I am now watching all of the seasons of on Netflix).  I love caffeine, sparkles, mustaches, and my uber adorable boyfriend who I will call "the boy".  Original, I know.

So onto the title of my post, seven months later... I moved down south about seven months ago, and it has wreaked absolute havoc on my hair and skin.  I'm talking breakouts galore for my combination oily skin, and a huge frizzy dry angry mess of red hair on top of my head.  After settling in (finally), and getting a new job, I decided to try to tame this situation before summer totally takes effect and I'm playing major catch-up.  Over the next few weeks I'll be updating you all on my progress, and what works and what just doesn't.

Here are the few things I got today to start helping out my very angry hair:

Wish me luck!

Guest Post: Tay's 3 favorite things.

These seem to be the items I keep coming back to. They last long and are worth the money you pay for them.

First: Benefit's Bad Gal Lash in black. I have a pretty good set of lashes but every once in a while they like to be stubborn. The lash brush on this is perfect for building and separation and it doesn't get clumpy.

Second: Smashbox blush in Blush Rush Radiance. It comes in a tiny little black case and a cute little mirror swivels from underneath. This color is perfect for summer and although it looks very pink, if you put a little bit on a blush brush at a time, you can build it up from a light light peachy pink to that color pink in the package.

Third: Covergirl  BB Cream in 805 Light. Perfect for my very fair skin tone. Its moisturizing and has a light coverage to get rid of the red in my cheeks and blemishes wherever on my face. So far this summer, its been able to blend with my ever slowly darkening tan.

I really recommend these products because they truly are worth the money you pay for them and they stand up against the length of the day and the sun.

Until next time,
Tay.

Welcome To Hey There Dollface!

Hey there blogosphere!

My name is Carolyn and lately I have become slightly obsessed with all the beauty/fashion/style/lifestyle blogs out there so I decided to make one of my own! With a little help from my sweet friend back home Taylor of course.  Now I know that blogs are supposed to be a representation of your own thoughts and feelings on a particular topic, but lets face it, I'm not the remembering to post everyday type of person. So what better way to keep up with all the new fun things showing up in the makeup/beauty world than to enlist some help from a mighty pretty girl to do it. We also have different skin/hair types, and much different tastes, so between the both of us you get a pretty good mix of products we like/dislike/will urge you to go and try out. Hopefully we are up and running within a few weeks and showing you some cute new things we've come across.

Until then,
Much love and laughs
