Peter Thomas Roth Oiless Oil

I'm a recent convert to the glory of skincare and skincare products.  I spent years using only the St. Ives Apricot Scrub, the Clean and Clear Dual Action Moisturizer, and occasionally a spot gel for pimples.  That's it folks.  Nothing else made it past the first use before being given away or hidden in the back of the medicine cabinet.

As a result of this recent conversion I've been much more excited to try different skincare products, one of which I'm very very excited to share with all of you.

Peter Thomas Roth Oiless Oil

First Impression: Oh goodness, not another oil.  Wait, not an oil?  So it's like water then.   What the heck is squalane?   Only one drop?  Do they know how big my face is?  Jeepers.  Well lets see what this overpriced water can do.

After Application: Oh wow that's nice.  A little shiny, but it is more or less "oil" right?  I can't even feel it on my skin.  I hope this won't clog my pores and make me breakout tomorrow.

Overall: "Ding ding ding, we have a winner!"  I love this stuff.  It says it's 100% squalane, which is the stuff in your body that keeps all the moisture in your skin.  (oooh fancy)  It went on smoothly.  You really only need one drop of it and the glass pipette is just too cute.  It's a little hard to keep it on your fingertips to get it to your face, but if you get it right on the pads of your fingers you're golden. You can barely feel this on your face, and it doesn't get your hair stuck in it or leave a residue on things like most "oils" do. It also hasn't broken me out any of the times I used it and left my skin feeling soft and happy after. I have a hard time using another moisturizer in place of this, but for me I find it's really spectacular to use at night so it gets to sink in.  That and it's too darn sunny not to wear an SPF during they day here, and that plus this would be far too much.

Repurchase: Yes.  Guaranteed.  It's $38 for a full sized container, but if it replaces all the other moisturizers I have it will be well worth it.  Especially with how little you have to use to cover your whole face it will last quite a while.

Sample Society Beauty Box May 2014

Well Dolls today we're veering off the usual and doing a review instead of spreading some motivational joy.

This month's Sample Society Box was jam packed with skincare goodies, and I for one am very excited about it.

Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Repair CC Cream-  I don't like CC Creams.  I think they do absolutely nothing for me and end up making me greasy.  This one however looks like something I could wear under a light foundation to even out my red cheeks in the summer months.

Borghese Gentle Makeup Remover-  I've tried the brand Borghese before and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked the brand.  This stuff reminds me of that aloe vera gel you put on burns.  It's liquidy and gelly which is a weird consistency for a makeup remover, yet I'm as excited as a little kid to try it out.  I guess you never really grow out of the experimenting phase huh?

Flash Facial Exfoliating Treatment-  The tube says something along the lines of "This stuff is made for people like me who are always rushing and still want all the results of taking your time."  I haven't even tried it and I like it.

Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery-  Is it a serum?  Is it a moisturizer?  No one knows.  What I do know however is that I want this, all over my face, and I want it now.

Murad T-Zone Pore Refining Serum-  I have Murad products.  I like Murad products.  I have little use for refining the pores on my T-Zone, but next to my T-Zone I have a lot of use for it.  We shall see.

Overall this box gets a major thumbs up from me.  Have you subscribed yet?

Motivational Wednesday 5/14/14

Every one of us has something about them that makes them unique/special.   Some attributes are external and some are internal, they come from your soul and are a part of who you are.  My little gift has been to touch people hearts and make them happy, to spread joy, and to spread smiles.  I know it sounds silly, and I by no means say that everyone I meet loves me, but it's my little gift.  It goes along with my bubbly personality and is a gift I hope to never lose.

This quote reminds me of my little gift and makes me wonder what all of your little gifts are.
So friends, what little gifts do you all have?

Laura Gellar Cream Eyeshadow in Silver Sands

Who's ready for a nifty new product review??  ::Raises hand excitedly::

I recieved this Laura Gellar Cream Eyeshadow in Silver Sands in my Blush Box and I can honestly say I've never been more shocked to love a product in my life.

First Impression: Erm is silver appropriate for spring?  Should I really be wearing this all over my eyes?  Is this too much?  I literally have five minutes to get out the door and I have eyeliner to put on, this will have to work.  This isn't as silver on my skin as it looked in the tube, but I still liked the color.

After Application: Huh, this lasted all day.  There was no creasing to speak of and after nine hours at work on a humid day it still looked like when I first applied it.  It's a little sheer but very build-able for all over lid coverage.

Overall: I think this would be really nice in the corner of my eyes, or underneath another color as a base.  I never expected to like this product, but I do very much. It's not an everyday product, and it's messy to apply, but for special days or days I have extra time the results are pretty fantastic.

Repurchase: No.  Even though I don't have a negative thing to say about this eyeshadow I just know after the tube is finished I won't be longing to have it in my arsenal again.  I am such a powder shadow, quick swipe on the lid person.

Motivational Wednesday : 5/7/14

Today instead of smothering you guys with how I feel, I'll just leave you with a word/phrase that pretty much sums up these past few missing weeks.  I hope that with this new mindset I'll be able to put more into my creativity and this blog, and less into the negativity.
This is how I live my life, I'm glad there's a sort of proper description for it, albeit not in English...Wabi-sabi

Blush Mystery Beauty Box May 2014

The first week of the month is always my favorite time of the month.  Not because all my bills get paid and I stop worrying about it, or the fact that it's one month closer to my birthday.  It's because my Blush box comes in the mail and I always drool over the things I get.

Bioxidea Miracle 24 Hand Mask-  I got another mask like this, but for your face, which I have not yet tried, because I can't justify using a $25 mask for no good reason.  I don't have the smoothest lady hands, but with spring coming I might just get over myself and try it.

Peter Thomas Roth Oilless Oil- Apparently this is an oil, but not, but it's supposed to be good for your skin, and does not contain shark (erm...).  That's what the bottle says anyways.  I like it.  No smell, cute little dropper, large little bottle. I'm sold.

Glo Minerals Blush in Bare/Hibicus-  These colors wouldn't be something I picked for myself but I will definitely give them a try.  Maybe if my face gets a little tan I won't look like I stood in the wind on top of a cold mountain for hours like most blush does to me.

Laura Gellaar Cool Lids Cream Eyeshadow in Silver Sands- I usually run away screaming from liquid eyeshadows like this, but this really intrigues me.  It says silver but comes off like a nice taupe on my skin.  With a primer I can see this being a springtime favorite.

Purlisse Pur Moist Hydra Balance Moisturizer- I think I already have this.  I don't know if I actually need another moisturizer but maybe, just maybe, I can convince my boyfriend to use this.  Fingers crossed people.

Miracle Skin Transformer for your Face-  I have a few of these.  They aren't anywhere near my skintone.  Or anyone's I've ever seen before.  I don't like it and if I never get another one I will be the happiest person ever.

Overall I think the high end items I got make up for the two I'm not super happy about.  I can't wait to try all of this stuff out and hopefully find something to share with you guys!
